ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Vice Chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi met with the US House of Representatives and higher officials in State Department on Monday to overcome their reservations regarding PTI Chairman Imran Khan.
Talking to party workers in Virginia, Shah Mahmood Qureshi said that PTI is all set to give tough time to the corrupt government of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) as PTI would not sit calm until the crooked system is demolished.
He further said that Pakistan Army is zealously participating in the eradication of terrorism and other criminal activities from the country.
Talking about Panama leaks probe, he said that government is not willing to form an empowered commission due to which the opposition parties have decided to prepare a draft having TORs that will be presented in Senate and National Assembly.
Earlier, addressing a ceremony Qureshi said that political rivals terrified of PTI’s growing popularity among the masses, especially youth, have started hatching conspiracies and were using different tactics to create uncertainty among the PTI leadership, activists and supporters.
He said PTI’s efforts were aimed at unveiling the corruption of the ruling leadership. He, however, clarified that his party’s campaign would not be against democracy.
Qureshi, while congratulating the elected members of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), also expressed the hope that the coming elections would be transparent and fair.
