TIMERGARA: The Lower Dir police has arrested several accused involved in heinous crimes and presented them before the media. Briefing local journalists, sub divisional police officer Hidayatullah Shah said that one Ghausur Rehman, a resident of Rani had beheaded a youth Wahidullah on Aug, 19, 2009 over a monetary dispute in the jurisdiction of Khall police station. He said the Lower Dirpolice conducted a search and strike operation and dramatically arrested the accused who had gone underground after the crime.
The SDPO said that another accused Bacha Khalid, a resident of Bar Kalay Khall had killed his sister in the name of family honour on Feb, 13, 2010 in the jurisdiction of Khall police station. He said that three others Shahab ud Din, Majidullah and Siasat Khan, residents of Chappar Upper Dir had broken locks of a general store and taken away Rs, 1,80,000 cash and other valuables on July, 10, this month in the jurisdiction of Khall police station. He said the police also recovered arms used during the crimes.
Similarly the Timergara circle police recovered 5000 grams charas and one bottle of wine during a raid at a hotel and arrested Juma Said and his brother Gul Rashid on charges of selling contrabands. He said that another accused Rashid Ahmad, a resident of Kalo Manai Talash used to sell lands on fake stamp papers.
The SDPO said that Lower Dir police had been active to curb law violators and bring them onto books.
