BANNU: Both security forces and police arrested at least 24 suspects, including wanted criminals and drug peddlers in the jurisdiction of the Mandan Police Station, on Saturday, during a joint search operation. The Deputy Superintendent, Police Headquarters, Inayat Ali Shah, told media sources that more than 200 personnel of police and security forces had taken part in the early morning raid that lasted for six hours. The law enforcers also recovered 13 Kalashnikovs, nine pistols, a rifle, hundreds of rounds, two stolen cars and many motorcycles as well as five kilogrammes of hashish from their possession, he said. The official maintained that most of the suspects were wanted by the police in many cases of heinous nature. He added that the arrested men were later shifted to an undisclosed location for further interrogation.
